What is a BottleBag?
Plastic does not perish.
Every year around 311 million tons of new plastic are produced worldwide. In 1950 there were only five million tons of plastic. The production of plastic increases every year by 8%. In the last 10 years more plastic has been produced than in the whole of the 20th century. Plastic always remains in existence because it is not degradable. It breaks down into very small particles, which causes serious damage to the environment.
The production of plastic not only costs energy and consumes finite fossil raw materials, but plastic also enters the food chain through the plastic soup and many animals die because (micro) plastics are eaten. Only a small part of the plastic is recycled, while recycled plastics are hardly used in high-quality products.
Too little recycling of plastic
50% of the plastic that is produced is immediately thrown away. For example, around 1 trillion (1.000 billion) plastic bags are used worldwide every year. These are more than one million bags per minute.
A plastic bag has an average 'useful life' of 15 minutes. In America, only 8 percent of the 30 million tons of plastic is recycled.
Do not enlarge the plastic mountain with the BottleBag!
The BottleBag is an alternative to the standard plastic bags, because it is made from 100% recycled PET bottles. The BottleBag comes standard with a hangtag, where the exact explanation of the production process is described.
